Beauty and the Grit: Inspirations of the West

Kenneth Peloke harnesses the emotional aspects of the beauty and grit of the West in his new exhibition. With an aim to connect his works to the audience on a deeper level, he imbues each piece with the feeling suggested in the title. His bold, large-scale canvases convey the pure essence of his subjects. His multi-media approach creates a depth and uniqueness using variations, transparency and layering.  The incredible realism that he captures lends a one-of-a-kind contemporary appeal.

Preferring to work from a flow state, the artist endeavors to become one with the painting itself and the inspiration he feels becomes palpable in the works. Lovestruck, for instance, features the portrait of a horse staring directly at the viewer, with a presence both powerful and gentle- it holds you in its gaze. “I want people to understand what I was feeling in that moment when I created the piece,” says Peloke. With other emotive titles such as Good Company, and Follow Your Heart, he invites viewers to connect.

Kenneth Peloke’s work has been featured in national publications including Western Art Collector, In Style, Luxe and Western Art & Architecture magazines and is displayed in both public and private installations throughout the world including China, Singapore, Australia, New York, Scottsdale, Jackson Hole and Sun Valley, ID.
