The Wild Within

Please join us for the Artist Reception on Friday, July 17th from 5-7pm.
“Curiosity drives me to create as well as the desire to get better at what I do. Each piece is a chance to learn something new—about the subject, the materials, or myself. Making art helps me process ideas and emotions, and I’m always seeking to deepen that journey.” – Kenneth Peloke
In his latest body of work, Peloke seeks to connect viewers to the wildness and beauty in both animals and one another. His piercing portraits of noble creatures and the horse and rider capture the palpable bond that we experience in the presence of majestic animals. The gestures and compositions nod to themes of movement, connection and transformation. “To me, horses embody strength, freedom, intuition, and trust. Their ability to communicate without words, balancing power and sensitivity, is endlessly inspiring. Majestic yet vulnerable, they can reflect much of the human experience.”, the artist says.
Peloke’s multi-media approach creates a depth and uniqueness to his work, using variations, transparency and layering techniques to heighten the realism and lend a contemporary appeal. Preferring to work from a flow state, inspiration comes naturally as the process unfolds. “My favorite moment is when a piece starts to guide me instead of the other way around. When intuition takes over, the process can make me feel electric and alive yet completely lost at the same time.”, says Peloke.
Kenneth Peloke’s work has been featured in national publications including Western Art Collector, In Style, Luxe Magazine and Western Art & Architecture and is displayed in both public and private installations throughout the world including China, Singapore, Australia, New York, Scottsdale, AZ, Jackson Hole, WY and Sun Valley, ID.
