A graduate of the University of New Hampshire and Yale University's School of Forestry and Environmental Studies, Dave Hall lives with his family in Salt Lake City and on Blaine Spring Creek near Ennis, Montana.
Hall's artistic influences include Utah artist and friend Connie Borup, Mark Rothko, Wolf Kahn, Russell Chatham, the Impressionists, and the American tonal painters George Inness and Albert Ryder. His book, Moving Water: An Artist's Reflections on Fly Fishing and Friendship was published in 2009.
